The Givers Bouquet

a bouquet of flowers stand

as she is shunned with none

and I have a ton

the next day falls

I give some away for her to adore

a new dawn breaks, she comes back for more

I give away a few

leaving me with only a two

now with my bouquet gone

and her periwinkles abundantly blue

satisfied as she seems

I have yet to be redeemed

I wrote the poem above after reflecting a theme in various literature writings. The thematic statement that goes along with this poem is “Hypocritical judgment in society often causes people to rely more on others–not less–as a way of coping with what can’t be avoided.” This poem works well standing alone as well.
